The American Helicopter Museum holds an annual Father’s Day Fest, where they show off their helicopters, as well as an antique car show. This year they wanted to do a Robotics outreach and they asked Out of the Box to do a demonstration of the robot. We brought a half field and our robot, which we allowed the kids to drive around. In addition, we brought a table full of activities for kids to explore engineering.
We reached a large number of people and even signed up 10 kids for FLL teams. We also got interest from 3 kids who wanted to join our FTC team. We had an opportunity to reach out a number of people in our community and talk about FIRST. We got several kids interested in the FIRST programs, and had a lot of fun ourselves.
